Mustard Rania is a muted golden mustard, closer to olive gold than to bright yellow, with the Rania paisley printed over it in pale cream. It comes from the Siyane Collection at Benang Istanbul as a 95 x 95 cm cotton square. Mustard can be a tricky colour to wear, but this softened version is easy, and it brings a bit of warmth to plain outfits without taking them over.
In daylight the colour moves between soft gold and light khaki depending on how the fabric catches the light. That is part of the appeal. Against cream, white or denim it looks warm and sunny, and next to brown or olive it settles into a quieter earth tone.
The cream paisley sits lightly on top. It is clear enough to read as a pattern but never sharp, so from a few steps away the scarf looks almost plain with a gentle, slightly shimmery texture.
Rania’s design is a full paisley layout. Big curving teardrops cover the square, a plume of smaller paisleys and leaves rises from one corner, and an ornate band of paisley runs around the edge to form a frame. Every line is built from tiny loops and dots, the kind of fine detail you usually see on traditional shawls from Kashmir, where the paisley motif first became famous outside Persia.
A small Siyane label is printed near one corner, so when you wear the scarf with a corner falling to the front, the label sits low and out of the way.
Cotton has one quality that makes it ideal for a scarf you reach for every day. It is actually stronger when wet than when dry, so it handles regular washing far better than more delicate fibres. You can wash Mustard Rania after a long, sweaty day without worrying about wearing it out.
It is also breathable and absorbent, which matters in Malaysian weather. Heat escapes through the weave and sweat is pulled away from the skin, so the scarf feels comfortable from a morning commute to an evening outdoors. Siyane designed Rania to be worn in any season, and in a cold air-conditioned office the cotton still feels pleasant rather than clammy.
The fabric shapes easily. It folds into a clean triangle, holds a pin firmly and stays put, which saves you from adjusting it every hour.
This square is 5 cm wider each way than a typical 90 x 90 cm scarf. In practice that means a fuller drape over the chest and shoulders and longer ends, so you have more freedom with how you tie it.
Fold the scarf into a triangle and pin it under the chin. Cross the ends behind the neck and tie them, then let one corner fall straight down the front so the paisley border forms a neat V on the chest.
Pin under the chin, wrap one end once around the neck, and let the other hang loose over one shoulder. The cotton holds the wrap in place without extra pins.
Cream and ivory are the classic match, and a cream shirt jacket shows the colour at its best. Denim, white, camel, chocolate brown, olive and navy all work too. For a bolder look, pair it with burgundy or plum.

Every Benang Istanbul order ships within Malaysia through Pos Laju, and delivery is free once your order passes RM150. Malaysian shoppers order our Turkish scarves and shawls as everyday hijabs as often as fashion pieces, so every parcel gets the same careful handling regardless of what’s inside it. If your scarf arrives damaged, defective, or isn’t what you ordered, you have 7 days from delivery to let us know.
Orders of RM150 and above ship free, anywhere in Malaysia. Below that threshold, shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address and parcel size.
Because scarves and shawls are personal items, we sell most pieces as final sale. There are two exceptions:
To qualify, the piece needs its original tags attached, no signs of wear or washing, and its original (or equally protective) packaging.
Email info@benangistanbul.com or WhatsApp us at 017-661 4342 with your order number and a photo showing the issue. We’ll confirm whether it qualifies and send you the next steps.

Hand wash cold, skip the tumble dryer, and keep your scarf out of direct sunlight. That one habit protects the drape and colour of almost every fabric we work with, though each material has a few rules of its own worth knowing before you wash it the first time.

I’ve tried many shawls before, but these authentic Turkish shawls are on another level. The fabric is premium, easy to style, and maintains its shape throughout the day.
