Lime is not a quiet colour, and that is the reason to wear it. A bright yellow-green near the face changes a plain outfit more than almost anything else you can add to it. The Lime Vine puts that colour on a light chiffon square, 90 x 90 cm, sourced from Türkiye and printed with the leafy vine design that gives our Vine series its name.
Every scarf in the Vine series shares the same trailing pattern of stems and leaves. Each one is printed in a different colour story. Here the green is fresh, close to citrus, so the scarf reads as bright and summery rather than formal.
It looks most at home in daylight. A garden wedding, a kenduri, Raya visits and a weekend lunch with family are all good occasions for it. For evening events or a conservative office, one of the darker colourways in the series will feel more settled.
Chiffon is a sheer plain weave made from fine, tightly twisted yarns. The twist gives it a slightly grainy feel against the fingers, and the open weave is why it feels almost weightless and moves when you walk. It also dries quickly after washing and folds small enough to carry in a handbag.
That lightness comes with two things you should know before you buy.
The first is that chiffon is sheer. Folding the scarf into a triangle doubles the fabric over your head, but you will still want an inner or anak tudung underneath, and its colour will show a little at the edges. With a light shade like lime, a white, cream or soft green inner looks cleanest.
The second is grip. Chiffon is smooth and slides more than cotton or rayon, so it needs pins. A cotton inner underneath gives it something to hold on to.
On a hot day chiffon feels airy, because air moves through it easily. It does not absorb sweat the way cotton does, though. It is at its best in air-conditioned offices, in the evening, and at events. If you spend long hours outdoors in the midday heat, one of our cotton scarves will be more comfortable.
On our site this is a Small scarf. A 90 cm square is a common size for Turkish scarves, but it is noticeably smaller than a Malaysian tudung bawal. The standard bidang 45 bawal is around 115 cm, which is the size of our Large chiffon scarves.
Folded into a triangle, the Lime Vine covers the head and neck and finishes around the collarbone. It does not fall over the chest. For that fuller coverage, choose a Large 115 x 115 cm scarf instead. If you like a scarf that is quick to put on, with less fabric gathered under the chin, or you want one to wear at the neck, the small square is easier to work with.
Pinned with loose ends. Fold into a triangle, pin under the chin and let the two ends hang over the shoulders. Chiffon falls softly, so the ends drape instead of sticking out.
Wrapped and pinned. Take one end around the back of the neck and pin it at the opposite side. This holds better on windy days, or if you ride pillion on a motorbike.
At the neck. Fold the square into a band and tie a loose knot or a small bow at the side of the neck, over a white shirt or a plain dress. Lime against white is about as fresh as an office outfit gets.
On a bag. Tied around the handle of a neutral tote, it adds colour without committing a whole outfit to it.
Lime looks strongest next to white, cream and navy, and it is easier with denim than you might expect. Black makes it bolder. The one thing to avoid is a second bright green or yellow in the same outfit, unless you are going for a monochrome look on purpose. Let the scarf be the bright piece and keep everything else calm.
From our Armagan Collection, the white tunic top with the white straight cut pants makes a clean base for it. The black long dress gives it the most contrast.
Chiffon is delicate, but it is not difficult to look after if you go gently.
Every Benang Istanbul order ships within Malaysia through Pos Laju, and delivery is free once your order passes RM150. Malaysian shoppers order our Turkish scarves and shawls as everyday hijabs as often as fashion pieces, so every parcel gets the same careful handling regardless of what’s inside it. If your scarf arrives damaged, defective, or isn’t what you ordered, you have 7 days from delivery to let us know.
Orders of RM150 and above ship free, anywhere in Malaysia. Below that threshold, shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address and parcel size.
Because scarves and shawls are personal items, we sell most pieces as final sale. There are two exceptions:
To qualify, the piece needs its original tags attached, no signs of wear or washing, and its original (or equally protective) packaging.
Email info@benangistanbul.com or WhatsApp us at 017-661 4342 with your order number and a photo showing the issue. We’ll confirm whether it qualifies and send you the next steps.

Hand wash cold, skip the tumble dryer, and keep your scarf out of direct sunlight. That one habit protects the drape and colour of almost every fabric we work with, though each material has a few rules of its own worth knowing before you wash it the first time.

I absolutely love this shawl hijab! The fabric is soft, breathable, and drapes beautifully without slipping throughout the day. It’s perfect for both everyday wear and formal occasions.
The quality of these Turkish scarves exceeded my expectations. The material is breathable, elegant, and perfect for Malaysia’s weather.
I’ve tried many shawls before, but these authentic Turkish shawls are on another level. The fabric is premium, easy to style, and maintains its shape throughout the day.
