This is the simplest piece in the Armagan Collection. It is a single layer of pure linen that falls straight from the shoulder to the calf, with long sleeves and a buttoned front, and nothing gathered or cinched anywhere. It works like a very long shirt, and you wear it over trousers or a skirt on the days when you want to be covered, cool and comfortable without putting much thought into it.
There is no belt with this piece, and the cut does not need one. Left to hang, the linen stands slightly away from the body and lets air move underneath, which is the coolest way to wear any long garment in hot weather. It also gives the most modest line, since nothing marks the waist or hips.
If you want more shape on some days, add a belt of your own. A narrow leather belt in tan or brown looks good against cream linen, and so does a simple fabric tie.
The front closes with buttons on an overlapping panel. The overlap keeps the opening flat when you sit, walk or bend, so there are no gaps between buttons.
The tunic dress measures 120 cm from the shoulder. On our 178 cm model it ends at mid-calf. At around 160 cm it reaches the lower calf, a little above the ankle.
It is a top layer, not a full-length dress. Wear it over wide trousers or a long skirt. Cream, beige and other light neutrals look best underneath, because linen has an open weave and dark colours can show through a pale shade in bright daylight. A nude or cream inner top is sensible for the same reason.
The fabric is 100% linen, woven from flax, with nothing synthetic mixed in. Linen breathes better than cotton and dries quickly, so it does not cling on a humid day. It is a strong fibre, and it softens with every wash, so the piece becomes more comfortable the longer you own it.
Linen also creases, and you should expect that. It will look rumpled after an hour of sitting, and that relaxed texture is part of how linen is meant to look. If you prefer a smooth finish all day, the Tencel pieces in this collection will suit you better.
This is a smart-casual and everyday piece. It suits weekend errands, lunch with family, a day of travel or a relaxed Friday at work. Because it is cool and easy to move in, it is also a good choice for long outdoor days, such as a morning at the market or an open house that runs into the afternoon.
For shawls, warm and earthy colours sit best with buttercream. Olive, terracotta, camel and brown all work, and a print with a cream or beige base ties in naturally. Avoid a bright optical white shawl, which makes cream fabric look yellow next to it. A cotton or rayon shawl with a matte finish suits the texture of linen better than a shiny one.
Tan sandals, loafers or plain white sneakers all go with it.

Our model is 178 cm tall with an 86 cm bust, 64 cm waist and 94 cm hips, and she wears a size 38, so the fit in the photos is the fit you can expect on a similar frame. The cut is loose through the body.

Wash in cool water with light colours, by hand or on a gentle cycle. Avoid hot water and hot tumble drying, because both can shrink linen. Dry it on a hanger in the shade and iron it while it is still a little damp, which is when the creases come out most easily. Do not use chlorine bleach, because it weakens linen and can turn cream fabric yellow. Store it hanging, not folded, to avoid sharp crease lines.
