Description

Coffee cream is the shade you get when you stir a lot of milk into coffee. It is warmer than beige and softer than brown. For office wear, it is a useful colour. It looks put-together the way black does, but it is lighter and cooler to wear on a hot day, and it moves easily from a weekday meeting to a Raya open house or a daytime engagement.

The set is two pieces, the dress and a fabric belt in the same colour.

Wearing a Light Colour, Unlined

The dress has no lining, which keeps it light and lets the fabric drape properly. With a pale shade, that also means you should plan what goes underneath. We recommend a full-length inner or slip in nude or a similar skin-close tone, not white, because white shows through light fabric more than people expect.

The Fabric: 82% Lyocell, 18% Polyester

Lyocell comes from wood pulp and feels smooth and cool on the skin. It takes up moisture much better than synthetic fibres, so the dress stays comfortable through a humid commute and a full day indoors. The polyester share helps it keep its shape and crease less. In a light colour this matters, because creases show more on cream than on black.

Cut and Length

The dress has long sleeves, a high neckline and a full skirt that falls in soft tiers. With the belt tied, the waist is defined. Without it, the dress hangs loose and straight.

The length is 137 cm, which reaches the ankle on our 178 cm model. At around 160 cm it will touch the floor in flats. That matters more with a pale hem than a dark one, since it will pick up dust from the ground. A low heel, wearing it belted, or a one-time hem alteration solves it.

Which Shawl to Wear with It

Coffee cream takes almost any colour, so the choice comes down to how much contrast you want.

For a tonal look, stay in the same family with camel, mocha or chocolate brown. This is the quietest option for the office.

For contrast, olive, burgundy and navy all sit well against a warm neutral. Printed shawls work too, especially a Kehribar print that has brown or cream in it somewhere, which ties the two pieces together.

One practical note: very dark, newly bought shawls can transfer a little dye onto a light neckline in humid weather. Wash a new dark shawl once before wearing it with this dress.

Available in European sizes 36, 38, 40, 42 and 44.

Our model is 178 cm tall with an 86 cm bust, 67 cm waist and 94 cm hips, and she wears a size 38.

Shipping & Returns

Every Benang Istanbul order ships within Malaysia through Pos Laju, and delivery is free once your order passes RM150. Malaysian shoppers order our Turkish scarves and shawls as everyday hijabs as often as fashion pieces, so every parcel gets the same careful handling regardless of what’s inside it. If your scarf arrives damaged, defective, or isn’t what you ordered, you have 7 days from delivery to let us know.

Delivery Timelines

  • Peninsular Malaysia: 2 to 4 working days once your parcel ships.
  • Sabah and Sarawak: 4 to 7 working days, since East Malaysia deliveries take a little longer to arrive.
  • Processing before shipping takes 1 to 5 working days. Add a day or two during major sales or festive periods, when courier volume goes up for everyone.

Shipping Cost

Orders of RM150 and above ship free, anywhere in Malaysia. Below that threshold, shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address and parcel size.

Returns and Exchanges

Because scarves and shawls are personal items, we sell most pieces as final sale. There are two exceptions:

  • Your item arrived damaged or defective.
  • You received the wrong item or the wrong size.

To qualify, the piece needs its original tags attached, no signs of wear or washing, and its original (or equally protective) packaging.

How to Report an Issue

Email info@benangistanbul.com or WhatsApp us at 017-661 4342 with your order number and a photo showing the issue. We’ll confirm whether it qualifies and send you the next steps.

Fabric & Care

Hand wash cold, skip the tumble dryer, and keep your scarf out of direct sunlight. That one habit protects the drape and colour of almost every fabric we work with, though each material has a few rules of its own worth knowing before you wash it the first time.

Silk

  • Hand wash in cold water with a mild, pH-neutral detergent or a few drops of baby shampoo.
  • Don’t wring it. Press the water out gently between two towels instead.
  • Dry flat, away from direct sun. UV light dulls silk’s natural sheen over time.
  • Iron on the lowest setting with the scarf turned inside out, or steam it instead.
  • Store folded inside a breathable cotton pouch. Plastic bags trap moisture and can yellow silk.

Chiffon

  • Chiffon is sheer and delicate. Hand wash in cold water and avoid twisting or scrubbing the fabric.
  • Air dry flat or over a padded hanger. A regular wire hanger can leave marks in the weave.
  • If you need to iron it, use the lowest heat with a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric.
  • Fold loosely once dry. Sharp creases are difficult to work out of chiffon later.

Cotton

  • Cotton handles a gentle machine wash on cold inside a mesh laundry bag, which protects the print.
  • Skip the bleach and fabric softener. Both wear down cotton fibres faster than expected.
  • Tumble dry on low, or line dry to keep the fabric looking newer for longer.
  • Iron on medium heat while the scarf is still slightly damp for the crispest finish.

Rayon and Viscose

  • Rayon loses strength when wet, so hand wash cold and handle it gently, without pulling or wringing.
  • Lay flat to dry. Hanging a wet rayon scarf can stretch it out of shape.
  • Iron on low to medium heat, always on the reverse side of the fabric.
  • Store flat or loosely folded rather than on a hanger.

Crepe

  • Hand wash cold and let the water pass through the fabric rather than rubbing it together.
  • Reshape the scarf while it’s still damp, then dry flat to keep the crepe texture intact.
  • Steam rather than iron where you can. That texture is part of the design, and a hot iron flattens it.

Twill and Linen (Keten)

  • Both fabrics tolerate a cold, gentle machine cycle, though hand washing extends their life.
  • Line dry out of direct sun to keep the print from fading.
  • Iron on medium heat while slightly damp. Twill and linen both respond well to a bit of moisture.
  • Fold rather than hang, so the weave doesn’t stretch out at the shoulders.

General Storage Tips

  • Keep every scarf away from direct sunlight and humidity. Both fade colour and weaken fibres over time.
  • Store delicate silk and chiffon pieces separately from heavier fabrics so nothing snags.
  • A cedar block or lavender sachet keeps moths away without the chemical smell of mothballs.
