This Piramit set from Benang Istanbul pairs a floral with a stripe. 15T Black Base scatters bright flowers over black inside a fuchsia pink border, and 56T Green Wave runs olive and ivory stripes that change direction across the square. Both are 90 x 90 cm rayon scarves, delivered across Malaysia by Pos Laju, with FPX payment through Billplz.

This is the Piramit set for anyone who likes to switch between a floral and a stripe. 15T Black Base, one of the collection’s best sellers, has bright painted flowers on black. 56T Green Wave, a newer arrival, has olive and ivory stripes and no flowers at all. Benang Istanbul sends them together in one order, and both are cut from rayon as 90 x 90 cm squares.
The flowers on Black Base look as if they were painted quickly with a wide brush, and that loose quality is the appeal. There are sky blue petals, yellow and tangerine blooms, splashes of hot pink, purple leaf strokes and the odd dab of lime green, all on solid black. The border is a strong fuchsia pink, with a small Piramit Luxer label printed near one corner.
Once it is tied, most of the black ends up framing the face and the colour comes through in the folds. It is an easy match for a black or navy abaya, and it gives a plain grey or charcoal outfit something to look at.
Green Wave is all geometry. Olive green and ivory stripes of equal width run across the square, then turn and meet at an angle, forming a broad chevron in one corner. A narrow olive hem finishes the edges.
Apart from the ivory there is only one colour here, so Green Wave is the calmer scarf of the two. Try it with white, beige, khaki or brown, or over a denim jacket at the weekend.
At first glance the two scarves have little in common, since one is dark and floral and the other is light and graphic. Look closer at Black Base, though, and you will find small lime and chartreuse marks inside several of the flowers. They sit close to the green of Green Wave’s stripes, which is why the two look right together in the same drawer or the same photo.
In practice the set covers two kinds of day. Green Wave handles the office, classes and daytime errands, where a clean stripe looks tidy. Black Base takes over later, at a family dinner or a wedding reception at night, anywhere a darker scarf looks more dressed up.
If you are buying for someone else, a floral and a stripe is a safe combination, because most wardrobes already hold outfits that suit at least one of them.
Both scarves are rayon, also called viscose. Rayon is made from wood pulp cellulose, so it behaves more like a natural fibre than polyester does: it absorbs moisture, lets air through and feels cool when you first put it on. For a scarf worn all day in Malaysian heat, that counts for a lot.
The face of the fabric has a satin-like shine. On Black Base it deepens the black, and on Green Wave it catches the light along the stripes wherever the scarf folds.
Each square measures 90 x 90 cm, the usual size for a square headscarf. Folded corner to corner, the triangle is long enough to cover the hair, pin under the chin and wrap once around the neck.
Fold the scarf into a triangle, pin it under the chin, and cross the two ends behind the neck before bringing them forward over the shoulders. An inner cap underneath stops the rayon from sliding. With Green Wave, line the stripes up along the forehead before you pin, and they will run evenly around the face.
Roll the square into a band and tie a small knot at the collarbone, or wrap it around a tote handle. Black Base works nicely here, since even a narrow band shows flashes of colour against the black.
Rayon goes soft and weak when soaked, so treat both scarves gently:

Every Benang Istanbul order ships within Malaysia through Pos Laju, and delivery is free once your order passes RM150. Malaysian shoppers order our Turkish scarves and shawls as everyday hijabs as often as fashion pieces, so every parcel gets the same careful handling regardless of what’s inside it. If your scarf arrives damaged, defective, or isn’t what you ordered, you have 7 days from delivery to let us know.
Orders of RM150 and above ship free, anywhere in Malaysia. Below that threshold, shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address and parcel size.
Because scarves and shawls are personal items, we sell most pieces as final sale. There are two exceptions:
To qualify, the piece needs its original tags attached, no signs of wear or washing, and its original (or equally protective) packaging.

Hand wash cold, skip the tumble dryer, and keep your scarf out of direct sunlight. That one habit protects the drape and colour of almost every fabric we work with, though each material has a few rules of its own worth knowing before you wash it the first time.

I’ve tried many shawls before, but these authentic Turkish shawls are on another level. The fabric is premium, easy to style, and maintains its shape throughout the day.
